Meg Cutting

Meg Cutting is a senior undergraduate student at the Eastman School of Music, pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance in the studio of Nathan Laube. Meg is from Salem-Keizer, Oregon, and began studying piano at the age of six. She previously studied piano and organ under the instruction of Pamela Miller. She has participated in various festivals and summer music programs throughout her musical career. Meg is a recipient of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, and was also selected as an E. Power Biggs Fellow for the 2015 OHS convention in Western Massachusetts. Before coming to Eastman, Meg was the organist at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Woodburn, Oregon, a position she held for two and a half years. In addition to this, she was a part-time organist at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Salem. Currently, she is the organist at Our Lady of Victory / St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in downtown Rochester, a position she has held since fall of 2015. Since beginning her studies at Eastman in 2014, Meg has developed a particular interest in the music of twentieth-century French organ composers, such as Messiaen, Alain, and Tournemire.
